Nakra Goes 8-of-15 From Three as Corona del Mar Opens Up a 26-2 First Quarter Against Edison (63-30)

Oliver Nakra put on a shooting performance for the ages, going 8 of 15 from three-point range for 28 points as Corona del Mar handled Edison, 63-30. The story, though, was written before halftime.

The Sea Kings erupted out of the gate, outscoring Edison 26-2 in the first quarter. Nakra had 14 of those points alone, hitting 4 of 7 from deep in the opening frame. Maxwell Scott added 8 points on 3-of-3 shooting in Q1, and point guard Luke Mirhashemi ran the show without scoring a bucket himself — he had 6 assists in the first quarter, 9 for the half. By halftime, CdM led 37-14, with Nakra at 19 first-half points and Scott at 12.

The second half was more even on the scoreboard, but the game was never in doubt. Nakra kept drilling threes — he went 3 of 5 from deep in the third quarter alone, finishing the period with 9 points. The bench got extended run in the fourth, with Jude Snyder, Andrew Vogt, Myles Waite, and Grayson Porter all finding their way into the scoring column to close things out.

Mirhashemi finished with 10 assists against just 1 turnover — the kind of floor general performance that makes 26-2 first quarters possible.
