Scott and Nakra Combine for 41 as Corona del Mar Pulls Away in the Fourth Against Marina (69-46)

Maxwell Scott poured in 23 points on 9-of-13 shooting, and Oliver Nakra added 18 more as Corona del Mar pulled away from Marina for a 69-46 win. The two combined to go 7 of 15 from three-point range, and CdM never let the Vikings get comfortable.

The Sea Kings controlled the opening half from the jump. Scott was efficient early, while Nakra — who finished 4 of 9 from deep — kept the offense humming from the perimeter. CdM outscored Marina 38-23 in the first two quarters, building a cushion that gave them room to work. Luke Mirhashemi distributed the ball well in the half, collecting all four of his assists as the offense moved. Caden Sanchez chipped in on the glass, and Nolan Scott — who finished with 8 rebounds — was a consistent presence inside.

Marina made things interesting in the third quarter, outscoring CdM 19-20 in a competitive eight minutes that tightened the game somewhat. But the Sea Kings responded in the fourth, holding the Vikings to just four points while scoring 11 of their own to close it out. That 11-4 fourth quarter made the final margin decisive. Nakra continued to be a threat whenever he touched it, and Scott was a problem all night — shooting 69 percent from the field. Ryan Mansouri chipped in 5 points and 3 assists, and Aiden Cole connected on one of his two attempts from three to keep the offense varied.
