Scott and Nakra Combine for 38 as Corona del Mar Pulls Away From Upland (61-39)

Oliver Nakra hit 4 of 7 from beyond the arc and finished with 18 points. Maxwell Scott added 20. Together they accounted for 38 of Corona del Mar’s 61, and Upland never had an answer.

The Sea Kings jumped out early, outscoring Upland 25-15 in the first quarter before stretching it further with a 17-8 second period. Luke Mirhashemi ran the offense efficiently out of the break, racking up nine assists on the night — many of them finding Scott and Nakra in rhythm. Scott went 5 of 9 from the field and knocked down a pair of threes. Nakra was even sharper, going 7 of 12 overall and lighting up the arc at a 4-of-7 clip. Corona del Mar led 42-23 at the half.

The second half was largely about maintaining. The Sea Kings extended their advantage in the third, outscoring Upland 12-7 to push the margin to 24. Nakra’s shooting stayed hot throughout, and Nolan Scott contributed two steals off the bench to keep any Upland momentum from gaining traction. The fourth quarter ended in a 7-7 draw — by then, the game had long been decided.

Mirhashemi’s nine assists were the highest single-game total any Sea King has recorded this season, and Corona del Mar closes it out with a 22-point win, 61-39.
