Maxwell Scott’s Double-Double Leads Corona del Mar Past Great Oak (64-43)

Maxwell Scott posted a double-double — 20 points and 10 rebounds on 8-of-13 shooting — and Corona del Mar steadily pulled away from Great Oak for a 64-43 win. The Sea Kings led wire-to-wire, outscoring the Wolfpack 33-19 in the first half before putting the game out of reach.

Scott and Oliver Nakra were the engines from the jump. Nakra knocked down three of his ten three-point attempts and finished with 17 points, while Scott did damage inside and out, converting 8 of 13 field goals. Luke Mirhashemi wasn’t much of a scorer, finishing with 8 points, but his seven assists across the night were the connective tissue that kept the offense humming. Corona del Mar’s second quarter was the turning point — the Sea Kings outscored Great Oak 18-8 to build a double-digit cushion heading into the break.

The lead never wavered in the second half. CdM went up 15-9 in the third quarter to push the advantage to 24 points before Great Oak made the fourth quarter competitive, cutting into the margin with a 15-16 split in the final period. Nolan Scott came through efficiently off the bench — he was a perfect 3-for-3 from the field, including one three-pointer, for 8 points without a single turnover. Caden Sanchez added 8 more on 2-of-4 shooting from deep, and Ryan Mansouri chipped in three steals to help keep Great Oak’s offense uncomfortable throughout.

Scott and Nakra both finished in double figures, and three more Sea Kings — Mirhashemi, Sanchez, and Nolan Scott — each added 8, giving CdM balanced scoring up and down the roster. Maxwell Scott’s 10 rebounds led the team.
