Huntington Beach Oilers
VS
Woodrow Wilson Bruins
Huntington Beach Cruises Past Woodrow Wilson, 31-7
Huntington Beach dominated from the opening whistle, taking control of Woodrow Wilson’s home opener and cruising to a 31-6 win.
Quarterback Brady Edmonds led the way, slicing through the Bruins’ secondary with a combination of arm talent and the ability to extend plays with his legs. Skylar Robinson was a frequent target, hauling in a string of big gains as the Oilers’ passing attack put up 31 points in the first half alone. Special teams got in on the damage too, blocking two Woodrow Wilson field goal attempts, including one recovered by Evan Scruggs.
Woodrow Wilson tightened up defensively after halftime, holding Huntington Beach scoreless through the third and fourth quarters. The Bruins avoided the shutout with a touchdown in the fourth quarter, but by then the game was well out of reach.
The win moves Huntington Beach to 3-0 on the season, while Woodrow Wilson falls to 0-3.
