Edmunds Throws 7 Touchdowns as Huntington Beach Crushes Laguna Hills, Score 65-10 (2025)

Huntington Beach – ‘Cap’ Sheue Field

It was a homecoming to remember at Cap Sheue Field as the Huntington Beach Oilers opened Epsilon League play with a statement 65-10 victory over Laguna Hills on Friday night. The win marked Huntington Beach’s fourth straight victory and the most points scored by the program since 2005, when the Oilers defeated Century 75-7.

Huntington Beach (5-1, 1-0) wasted no time setting the tone. The defense forced a safety on Laguna Hills’ opening drive, and from there, the Oilers’ offense exploded behind quarterback Brady Edmunds, who put together a record-setting performance. Edmunds completed 22 of 24 passes for 381 yards and seven touchdowns, connecting with star receiver Troy Foster for five of those scores.

The Oilers scored 30 points in the opening quarter alone. After a safety, Nathan Villanueva powered in from 11 yards out for the first touchdown of the night. Edmunds followed with two quick-strike passes to Foster, including a 16-yard connection and an 8-yard score, before Steel Kurtz added a 21-yard touchdown reception to make it 30-0 after one quarter.

Laguna Hills finally got on the board in the second quarter with a 6-yard touchdown pass from Jaxson Vanderbe to Nate Medina, but the Oilers immediately answered. Edmunds fired back-to-back touchdown passes — a 32-yard strike to Foster and a 70-yard bomb to the senior wideout — before halftime to take a commanding 44-10 lead.

The offensive fireworks continued after the break. Foster caught his fifth touchdown of the night, a 66-yard reception midway through the third quarter, and Kurtz added his second touchdown from seven yards out to extend the lead to 58-10.

In the fourth quarter, Nathan Santillan capped the scoring with a 66-yard touchdown run, sealing one of Huntington Beach’s most dominant wins in recent history.

Defensively, Steel Kurtz led the charge with seven tackles, two sacks, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. Gavin Seguin added five tackles and a fumble recovery as the Oilers held Laguna Hills to just 108 total yards of offense.

Huntington Beach (5-1, 1-0) will look to keep rolling when they travel to La Habra next Friday for another Epsilon League matchup at 7:00 p.m.
