Fountain Valley Closes Out Their Season Against Aliso Niguel, Losing 26-24 (2024)

Huntington Beach – ‘Cap’ Sheue Field

Aliso Niguel managed to edge out Fountain Valley in a nail-biting 26-24 win on Friday, avenging their previous loss to the Barons. Despite being ranked significantly lower in the standings, the Barons kept it close and put up a determined fight against the Wolverines, led by quarterback Lucas Alexander’s impressive performance. Alexander rushed for a touchdown and threw for two more, including one to receiver Luke Taylor, who continued to be a go-to target for Fountain Valley.

Fountain Valley saw some impressive defensive plays, but Aliso Niguel’s offensive attack, led by Jarett Sabol with 62 rushing yards and two touchdowns, proved tough to contain. Sabol’s impact was crucial, as Aliso Niguel has gone 6-1 when he scores at least two rushing touchdowns. The Wolverines’ defense also capitalized on opportunities, intercepting two Fountain Valley passes with big plays by Carson Etnire and Gavin Wycoff.

The loss extends the Barons’ losing streak to nine games, leaving them at 1-9 as they close out their season. Meanwhile, Aliso Niguel advances to 7-3 and will face San Dimas next Friday.
