Game-Winning Pick 6: Rylee Bradley Powers Marina Past Fountain Valley to Stunning Victory, Score 14-13 (2025)

Huntington Beach -Viking Field (MHS)

It was a night to remember for Marina as the Vikings stormed back late to stun Fountain Valley 14-13 in a thrilling Sunset League matchup. The seniors led the charge, with Rylee Bradley emerging as the game’s MVP on both sides of the ball. Bradley not only recorded two interceptions, including a pick-six, but also hauled in the game-tying touchdown and the decisive extra point in the fourth quarter.

Both teams opened aggressively, going for it on fourth down multiple times. Marina came up just short on an early 4th-and-midfield attempt, while Fountain Valley was intercepted on their own try. After another stalled Marina drive, the Barons capitalized with a quarterback run for a touchdown, but the PAT failed.

Fountain Valley opened the second quarter with a long run into scoring territory, but penalties killed the drive. Moments later, Hannah Meyer’s defensive pressure forced the FV quarterback into an errant throw, which Bradley intercepted and returned for a pick-six. Emma Prelle added the extra point. FV responded before halftime, picking off Marina’s quarterback and punching in another touchdown to take a 13-7 lead into the break.

Defense dominated in the third quarter as both squads struggled to sustain drives. The quarter ended without any points.

In the final quarter, Marina’s defense came up big again, keeping the Barons out of the end zone. On their last possession, quarterback Delilah Meza connected with Bradley for a 25-yard gain and later found her again on fourth down for a clutch touchdown. Bradley then secured the extra point, giving Marina its first lead of the game. Fountain Valley had one last chance, but the Vikings’ defense held strong, batting down a final desperation pass to seal the 14-13 win.

This victory snapped Marina’s seven-game home drought dating back to last season, improving their record to 4-12.
