Laguna Beach Rolls Past Fountain Valley to Stay Perfect, Score 63-18 (2025)

Huntington Beach – β€˜Cap’ Sheue Field (HBHS)

Laguna Beach continued its dominant season Friday night, cruising to a 63–18 road victory over Fountain Valley behind another record-setting performance from senior quarterback Jack Hurst. The win kept the Breakers undefeated at 7–0, marking their third straight road victory and fifth game this year decided by more than 20 points.

Hurst was electric from start to finish, completing 73.9% of his passes (17-for-23) for 294 yards and seven touchdowns, a new career-high. He spread the ball efficiently across his receivers, tossing multiple scores to Brady Stringham, Dylan Regal, and Charlie Christian as the Breakers exploded for 49 points in the first half alone.

Laguna Beach wasted no time asserting control. Hurst opened the scoring with a 60-yard bomb to Stringham, then found Christian for a 4-yard touchdown run and followed it up with a 29-yard strike to the same target minutes later. By the end of the first quarter, Hurst had also connected with Regal on a 1-yard pass, making it 28–0 Breakers after one.

The second quarter was more of the same, as Hurst hit Kimball on a 6-yard touchdown, then Regal again from 50 and 7 yards out to push the lead to 49–0. Fountain Valley finally got on the board in the third quarter with a 39-yard touchdown pass from Dillon to Basson, but Hurst responded quickly with an 8-yard pass to Beason and a 4-yard touchdown run from Brooks to extend the advantage to 63–6 heading into the final frame.

Despite two late scores from the Barons β€” both passing touchdowns by Dillon β€” the Breakers’ dominance was never in question.

On the ground, Charlie Christian added 75 rushing yards and a touchdown on just eight carries while also recording 53 receiving yards and another score. Defensively, Laguna Beach stayed aggressive, tallying three sacks courtesy of Garrett Beyerly, Jack Hooper, and Grayson Kazmouz, while linebacker Wyatt Bogdan led the team with ten tackles, including two for loss.

With the victory, Laguna Beach improved to 7–0, while Fountain Valley fell to 1–6, extending their losing streak to six games.

Next week, the Breakers will travel to face Aliso Niguel in a marquee matchup of elite quarterbacks: Jack Hurst vs. Carter Vestermark. Fountain Valley will host Dana Hills on Friday night, looking to snap their skid and get back on track.
