Nakra Hits Five Threes as Corona del Mar Pulls Away From Villa Park Early (83-59)

Oliver Nakra dropped 26 on 9-of-13 shooting, hitting 5 of 8 from three, and Corona del Mar put the game away before halftime in an 83-59 win over Villa Park.

The Sea Kings came out aggressive, outscoring Villa Park 29-9 in the first quarter and pushing that advantage to 52-21 by the break. Nakra was the offensive engine, but Maxwell Scott did a little of everything — finishing with 14 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists, and 5 steals. Ryan Mansouri added 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting, and Luke Mirhashemi chipped in 7 points with 4 assists to keep the offense moving.

The second half was more even — Villa Park outscored Corona del Mar 38-31 over the final two quarters, with the Spartans winning the fourth 24-13. That stretch kept the final margin from expanding further, but it never threatened the outcome. Caden Sanchez contributed 6 points and 4 assists, and Nolan Scott made both of his field goal attempts while adding 2 steals and a block off the bench.

Nakra’s 5-of-8 performance from three was the best individual shooting line of the night, giving Corona del Mar three players who scored in double figures.
