Meer Throws 4 TDs as Newport Harbor Dominates Colony, Score 45-14 (2025)

Ontario – Titan Field (CHS)

The Newport Harbor Sailors finally broke through on the road Friday night, delivering a dominant 45-14 win over Colony in Ontario. From the opening series, Harbor’s offense looked crisp and explosive, while the defense and special teams made sure momentum stayed firmly on their side.

Quarterback Jake Meer had one of the finest games of his career, finishing 19-of-26 passing for 289 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions. He also showed his dual-threat ability, adding 52 rushing yards on just seven carries, including an 18-yard scramble that kept a key drive alive. His efforts earned him a career-high passer rating of 148.9.

Meer spread the ball effectively, with Shane McKibbin emerging as his top target. McKibbin caught four passes for 110 yards and two touchdowns, highlighted by a 65-yard strike that silenced the Colony sideline. Ryan Palmer also delivered, hauling in four receptions for 56 yards and two scores. Jackson Stremick chipped in with five catches for 65 yards, helping Harbor keep the Colony defense off balance all night.

On the ground, the Sailors weren’t flashy but were efficient, rushing for 113 yards as a team at 5.1 yards per carry. Meer led the team in rushing yards, while Jonah Takamori added 37 yards on seven carries to complement the aerial attack.

Defensively, Newport Harbor made key plays to stifle Colony. Senior Glenn Baranoski delivered a highlight moment with an interception returned 37 yards, later adding a rushing touchdown to put the game out of reach in the third quarter. The Sailors’ defense totaled 66 tackles, including about four tackles for loss, one sack, and consistent pressure that kept the Titans from ever establishing rhythm.

By halftime, Harbor was firmly in control with a 35-7 lead, and they never looked back. The Sailors added a third-quarter touchdown and a fourth-quarter field goal before Colony tacked on a late score.

With the win, Newport Harbor improves to 2-3, snapping their road struggles and gaining momentum ahead of their matchup with Tesoro on October 3. Colony falls to 2-3 after the loss.
