Sailors Close Out Regular Season with Win Over Aliso Niguel, Score 32-6 (2025)

Newport Harbor continued its dominant season on Wednesday night, rolling past Aliso Niguel 32-6 in a non-league matchup. The Sailors controlled all four quarters, extending their win streak and improving to 23-2 overall.

Scarlett Guyser once again led the charge for the Sailors, putting together a near-flawless game both through the air and on the ground. The sophomore quarterback completed 20 of 27 passes for 148 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 94 yards and two additional scores.

Newport Harbor struck first in the opening quarter when Skylie Cid broke free for a 5-yard touchdown run, followed by a successful PAT from Guyser to Cooper Dick. Guyser added a 1-yard rushing touchdown just before the end of the quarter to make it 13-0.

Aliso Niguel responded midway through the second quarter with a Paige Russell 23-yard touchdown pass to Cambria Kaminski, but Cooper Dick intercepted the PAT attempt to keep the score 13-6 at halftime.

The Sailors reasserted control in the second half. Guyser connected with Blakely Irvine on a 25-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter, then followed with a 3-yard TD run of her own. Guyser capped the night by finding Cora Jordan for a 3-yard score late in the fourth and then running in the PAT to seal the 32-6 victory.

On defense, Dick and Aliyah Chappell each recorded an interception, while Ashlyn Spicer, Guyser, and Irvine combined for key stops to stifle the Wolverines’ offense.

Newport Harbor’s efficient performance — highlighted by Guyser’s four total touchdowns and Irvine’s 89 receiving yards — showed once again why the Sailors are among the premier flag football programs in the nation.
