Sea Kings Roll to Shutout Win as Annett Throws 4 TDs, Nixon Runs for 2, Score 55-0 (2025)

San Juan Capistrano – Badlands Stadium (SJHHS)

Corona del Mar continued its hot start to the season with a commanding 55-0 victory over Green Mountain on Saturday, improving to 3-0 behind a balanced performance from senior quarterback Brady Annett and running back Trejan Nixon.

The Sea Kings wasted no time setting the tone. Dorsett Stecker’s long punt return put CdM in striking distance, and moments later Annett threw his first of four touchdown passes on the night. By the end of the first quarter, the lead had already ballooned to 20-0, capped by Annett’s 25-yard strike to Garrett James.

Nixon extended the margin early in the second quarter with a dazzling 50-yard touchdown run, one of two scores for the junior who rushed for 115 yards on just eight carries. “He’s a tough runner who can break open a game,” head coach Kevin Hettig said postgame. “When he’s rolling, we’re a different team.”

James was a matchup nightmare for Green Mountain, hauling in two touchdowns from Annett — a 25-yarder in the first quarter and a 21-yard grab in the second — while finishing with over 70 receiving yards.

Annett, coming off back-to-back standout performances, was once again efficient and sharp. He completed 13 of 15 passes (86.7%) for 208 yards and four touchdowns, spreading the ball around to multiple targets. “Brady’s making great decisions,” Hettig said. “He’s not just throwing good balls, he’s getting it to the right spots.”

CdM’s dominance continued into halftime as Nixon added a 10-yard touchdown run and Annett tossed another scoring strike before the break, pushing the score to 48-0. By then, the running clock was in effect.

The Sea Kings closed out the game with one more rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter to secure the 55-0 shutout. Defensively, CdM swarmed Green Mountain’s offense from start to finish, forcing punts, limiting yardage, and never allowing the Rams to establish rhythm.

It was the second straight week Green Mountain suffered a 55-0 loss, dropping to 0-2. “We talk about growth and execution every week,” Hettig said. “Our guys played with composure today and finished plays.”

Corona del Mar has now scored 41, 28, and 55 points in its first three outings, showcasing one of the most explosive offenses in Orange County. The Sea Kings will return home Friday to face Charter Oak, while Green Mountain hosts Pomona.
